To ensure that you have speedy and accurate printing experience with us we ask that you provide us with print-ready files. We have provided a guideline for preparing print-ready files for you below.

We are here to help! If you ever have any problems or questions setting up your files, please email us at or call us directly at (866) POLYDOT (765-9368).

Guidelines for preparing print-ready files

Documents should be formatted at size, or to scale, according to the layout for the specific product.

We accept print ready files in the following formats: .eps, .jpg, .pdf, .psd, .tif., .ai. and .png. This means that we accept print-ready files saved from the following design software programs: Adobe Photoshop®, Adobe Illustrator®, Adobe InDesign®, Corel Draw®, and QuarkXpress®.

If you do not have access to any of the programs listed above your best option is to provide your file as a PDF to ensure the highest print quality possible.

For files from Adobe Illustrator®, Adobe InDesign®, and Corel Draw®: All text in EPS files should be converted to outlines and all of the images should be embedded.

For files from Photoshop®: All layers should be flattened.

For jobs that need to be an exact size after cutting (i.e. business cards, 4×6 postcards, and 5×7 flyers) we require a 0.125” bleed around the perimeter of your artwork to ensure accurate cutting. For example, a 4×6 postcard should have a bleed size of 4.25” x 6.25”

For all other products, that are not required to be an exact size, all text should be 0.1875” away from the edge to allow room for cutting.

We require your files to be in CMYK color mode. If your files are submitted using any other color standard, such as RGB or Pantone, they will be converted to CMYK during pre-flighting. Conversion from one color standard to another may cause colors to look slightly different.

Please convert all fonts to outlines, or supply all the fonts used in your files, to ensure that your text will not change. However, if you supply the fonts separately please make sure to review your proof carefully to assure that the fonts were loaded correctly.

We require a minimum resolution of 300 dpi (dots per inch) this will guarantee sharp printing results, as long as the original image used is of high quality at the desired size to be used. If your file is not 300 dpi, you cannot simply increase the dpi from a low resolution to a higher one by increasing the DPI in your imaging program.
